Myrtle “Beth” McGee

 

Funeral service for Myrtle “Beth” McGee will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 7, 2018 at Gillette Memorial Chapel; interment to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2018 at Gillette Memorial Chapel.

Myrtle Elizabeth McGee age 93, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center of natural causes. Myrtle Elizabeth “Beth” (Pacot) McGee was born on December 11, 1924 in Gillette, WY to Myrtle Ann (Reed) and Charles Frederick Pacot. Beth was raised and educated in Campbell County; she graduated from Campbell County High School in 1942. On July 27, 1942 Beth married the love of her life, Carl McGee. The couple raised two sons, Keith Albert McGee and Carl Allen McGee.

Beth worked for various business through the years including; Winland Dairy, Credit Bureau of Gillette, Gillette Police Department, Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, Knigge Oil Company, Green Electric Company, Northern Wyoming Mental Health Center, Senior Community Service Employment Program and Wyoming Department of Employment from which she retired in 1996.

She had many hobbies and interests throughout her life including; playing the piano and accordion, competitive pistol shooting, sewing clothes for her family, playing cribbage and other card games, and photography. Beth loved all her time spent with family and even used technology to stay in touch with her loved ones.

Beth was a life member of Eagle’s Auxiliary, a member of the First Presbyterian Church and also a member of Levis and Lace Square Dance Club.

Beth is survived by her sons, Keith (Maryann) McGee and Carl (Carol) McGee; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl McGee; and her parents, Myrtle and Charles Pacot; and all 10 of her siblings. Memorials can be made in Beth’s name to benefit the Rockpile Museum.
