Glenda Marie Bowens

Memorial service for Glenda Bowens will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Gordon Harper officiating; inurnment to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

Glenda Bowens, age 78, of Gillette Wyoming passed away Friday October 8, 2021, at Primrose with her family by her side.

Glenda was born on April 10, 1944 to Morris and Dorothy (Alexander) Ashley. She attended Black Hills State University to study elementary education with the graduating class of 1965. Glenda taught for many years before finding her calling working for the State of Wyoming.

November 10, 1984, she married her Prince Charming Larry Bowens.

Glenda was a caring and respected woman. She will be remembered as a strong force, who didn’t tolerate any funny business. She was a kind and caring woman who would do anything for those she loved. Many will remember Glenda for the smiles and laughs that followed her everywhere she went. She brought out the best in people and pushed them to reach their full potential. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and friend.

Glenda’s social calendar was always full, she managed to make time for everyone. She was a member of every club imaginable from her Red Hats group, to her painting classes at the Senior Center. She knew of no strangers and was a friend to all.

Glenda gained her wings and flew up to be with the love of her life once again. Glenda will be immensely missed by all who knew and loved her.
