Campbell County School District 1 OKs spending $2.85M for various projects

GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Campbell County School District Board of Trustees approved a series of bids and quotes for maintenance, upgrades and new equipment during its Tuesday meeting. The approvals were part of the consent agenda, allowing one vote to approve multiple agenda items.

The board approved the renewal of the FirstClass Email annual contract for education maintenance and archiving services maintenance with Opentext for $33,283.84. The renewal will run from May 1 through April 30, 2026, and will be funded by the general fund.

A bid for the Lakeway Learning Center concourse remodel was awarded to Norton Construction for $402,903, which includes the base bid of $373,000 and an alternate of $29,903. Other bids received were from Silver Nail Construction for $468,874 base and $497,364 with alternate, and S&S Builders for $409,035 base and $433,265 with alternate. The project will be funded by State Major Maintenance.

The board approved the purchase of a new Maintenance Department lawn sweeper from Stotz Equipment for $51,650. This purchase will be funded by the General Fund – Capital Equipment.

Tucker Electric was awarded the bid for the Meadowlark Elementary gym lighting upgrade with a base bid of $19,990. Another bid was received from Scott Brothers Electric Inc. for $38,458. The funding source for this project is State Major Maintenance.

For the Rozet Elementary lighting upgrade – phase II, the board approved the bid from Scott Brothers Electric Inc. for $367,459. WESCOM Inc. also submitted a bid for $440,000. This upgrade will be funded through State Major Maintenance.

The Sage Valley Junior High School kitchen remodel bid was awarded to Norton Construction for $673,650. Silver Nail Construction submitted a higher bid of $874,414. The funding for this project is State Major Maintenance.

Powder River Heating & Air Conditioning was the successful bidder for the Twin Spruce Junior High School domestic water upgrade, with a base bid of $299,850. Long’s Plumbing & Heating Inc. submitted a higher bid of $371,620. State Major Maintenance will fund this project.

The board approved the Wagonwheel Elementary playground improvements bid, awarding the contract for the Concrete Alternate 1 to Simon Contractors for $970,565. Powder River Construction Inc. submitted bids for Concrete Alternate 1 at $1,001,511.05 and for Asphalt Alternate 2 at $839,402.55, while Simon Contractors also bid $797,513 for Asphalt Alternate 2. The funding source is State Major Maintenance.

Finally, the board approved the purchase of a new print shop cutter from Print & Finishing Solutions for $39,465.50. A bid was also received from A&B Business Solutions for $49,761 for a New Challenge 305 TC Cutter. The funding for this purchase will come from the General Fund – Capital Equipment, and the district plans to surplus the old cutter by trading it in to the vendor.
