Piece of cake: Rockpile Museum hosting cake decorating contest, cake walk April 21

(Rockpile Museum)

GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Rockpile Museum, in partnership with the University of Wyoming Campbell County 4-H, will be hosting a cake decorating contest and cake walk Monday, April 21 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Competitors of all ages are invited to participate in the event’s cake decorating contest, where multiple prize categories, and bragging rights, are available to the most creative and tasty-looking cakes. A Rockpile Museum release encourages interested participants to submit their cake for judging to the museum no later than 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 18. Participants must also RSVP at the museum’s email, rockpile@vcn.com, to enter.

Rules and guidelines for the contest can be found at the Rockpile Museum’s Facebook page.

That’s not all the confectionary fun the Rockpile Museum has planned for April 21. At the same event, the museum is also hosting a cake walk, with an emphasis on children’s characters like Bluey and Sonic the Hedgehog.

This event is happening concurrently with the Storyland exhibit, which is on display until May 7 and was made possible thanks to the Campbell County Public Recreation District. This exhibit is free to view and the museum encourages visitors to see it while they are at the cake decorating contest and cake walk events.

See directions to the Rockpile Museum, where the event is hosted, here. For more information, see the museum’s website.
