GILLETTE, Wyo. — Here is a summary of notable crimes in and around Gillette yesterday, April 2, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Gillette Police Department and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.  

Escape, April 2, West Boxelder Road, CCSO

Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds said a warrant has been issued for 37-year-old Jared Good, who allegedly failed to return to custody after being sent for rehabilitation at the Cedar Mountain Center in Cody. Good reportedly left the center and has not returned to the Campbell County Detention Center. He has a prior escape charge and was last arrested on a warrant for failing to pay fines relating to a drug possession case. The investigation is ongoing.

Crash, April 2, Heptner Road, CCSO

No injuries were reported relating to a vehicle crash on Heptner Road, Reynolds said. A 16-year-old boy reportedly lost control of a 1995 Ford while driving approximately 35 mph on muddy and slick roads. The vehicle overturned onto its side, and the 16-year-old was cited for driving too fast for the conditions.

Theft, April 2, Echeta Road, GPD

A 67-year-old man called the police at 3:11 p.m. to report $600 worth of pallets stolen from Echeta Road, Gillette Deputy Police Chief Brent Wasson said. The pallets were all taken in mid-March and were sitting in a parking lot. There are no suspects, and the investigation is ongoing.

Crash, April 2, Highway 387, CCSO

Deputies responded to Highway 387 and Cosner Road around 4:48 p.m. for a report of a motorcycle crash, Reynolds said. A 27-year-old man was operating a 2024 Royal Enfield when he lost control and flipped the motorcycle after encountering snowfall. The crash resulted in over $1,000 in damage and no injuries.
