Two-car collision claims life of 12-year-old near Pine Bluffs

PINE BLUFFS, Wyo. — A car crash between a truck and a car resulted in the death of a 12-year-old on a county road between Pine Bluffs and Cheyenne on March 22. According to the reporting agency, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Department, road and weather conditions were clear the morning the incident occurred.

The juvenile was a passenger in a Hyundai car heading westbound on County Road 207 toward the community of Arcola between Pine Bluffs and Cheyenne. At the same time, a Ford F-350 was heading south on County Road 154, and the vehicles collided at the two roads’ intersection. The Ford directly impacted the broadside of the Hyundai.

Weather and road conditions were not deemed to have incited the collision, as roads and skies were clear; seatbelts were also in use and the time of the crash was cited to be approximately 10:27 a.m. Winds were mentioned in the fatality report as being extreme, but were not considered a contributing factor.

The other present people, the drivers of either vehicle, were not killed in the incident. While the Wyoming Department of Transportation did not disclose which driver was which, one was reportedly injured while the other was left unscathed.
