GILLETTE, Wyo. — The city curbside yard waste program will be back in full swing at the end of the month, according to the city of Gillette.
The program is an optional service available to residential utility customers between April and November for $9.60 per month, providing residents with 96-gallon rollouts to be used for yard waste, according to the city.
Only grass clippings, leaves and woody materials are allowed in the yard waste roll-outs, according to the city, which says no trash, sod, dirt or sand should be placed in the roll-out.
“Please be careful to not overload the roll-out,” the city website says. “The roll-out maximum capacity is 300 pounds. Also, the lid must be able to shut.”
Tree trimmings exceeding 2 inches in diameter and 36 inches in length, plus other large bulky items, should be taken to the Yard Waste Drop-Off site located adjacent to the Waste Water Treatment Plant on South Garner Lake Road, the city says. There is no fee to dispose of yard waste.
Yard waste roll-outs will be serviced weekly by the city’s Solid Waste division, with collection day being the same as trash day. Any materials collected curbside will be taken to the drop-off site, according to the city.
