Genetha Paulette Tolar: 1952 – 2025
Genetha Paulette Carver Tolar, 72, passed away on March 6, 2025. She was born in Avon Park, Florida on October 28, 1952 to Genetha (Mae) and Clyde Carver. She was one of five children.
Growing up in Florida, Genetha enjoyed water skiing, roller skating, and cruising with friends. In October of 1971, she married the love of her life, Joseph Tolar. After traveling to Germany with Joe and around the US they finally settled down in Wyoming. From this union three children were born. Ever longing to be a mother she settled in the role completely supporting her children in all their adventures they wanted to pursue. After the youngest started school, Genetha started her long career in real estate. Never meeting a stranger and always willing to tell stories from her past.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Tolar; brother, Tom Carver; children: Joe (Ashley) Tolar, Genetha Tolar (Luke Dowdy), David (Sabrina) Tolar; 10 grandchildren, aged 22 years to 8 weeks old; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Genetha is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; in-laws; two brothers, Michael and David Carver; and one sister, Elizabeth Johnson.
Genetha’s warmth and kindness touched the lives of many from all around the world and she was immensely proud of her family. The love and devotion to them will forever be remembered. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Services will be March 25 at 11 a.m. at Journey Church in Gillette. Graveside services to follow service. Luncheon afterwards at the church.
