GILLETTE, Wyo. — On Tuesday, the Campbell County Board of Commissioners approved the creation and classification of a new full-time elections clerk position within the County Clerk’s Office.

Brandy Elder, the county’s executive director of Human Resources and Risk Management, presented the proposal, saying the addition of a full-time clerk would benefit the county due to recent changes in legislation and increased activity surrounding elections. Elder noted she had discussed the necessity of the position with County Clerk Cindy Lovelace.

According to Elder, the new role has been classified as a pay grade 105 position with a non-exempt Fair Labor Standards Act status. The Elections Office currently operates with one elections coordinator and one part-time employee who works fewer than 20 hours per week.

Commissioners unanimously supported the creation of the role.
