GILLETTE, Wyo. — Tomorrow night, the Gillette City Council will consider a memorandum of understanding with Campbell County to obtain services for the new city pool, the construction of which should be completed before summer.
According to the council agenda, the new city pool is scheduled for completion in May. The city is looking to renew a historical agreement in which it pays the county to operate the pool in terms of staffing and maintenance during the swim season.
“Given the opening of the new pool, this MOU represents the next iteration of this agreement,” the council agenda states. “Under the agreement, the county provides lifeguards, certain cleaning services, operation protocols, and testing during the 2025 swim season.”
Per the agenda, the city intends to pay $177,060 for county services, which include providing chemicals as well as cleaning and maintenance materials. The city will operate the concession stand and will remain for all matters related to the pool outside of the 2025 swim season.
