GILLETTE, Wyo. — A man is in custody following a break-in at a local home improvement store early this morning, Gillette Deputy Police Chief Bren Wasson said Monday.

According to the report, officers were dispatched to Menards around 3:40 a.m. March 10 to investigate an alarm. Staff members told law enforcement that an individual was seen on surveillance breaking into the store.

The suspect was identified as 49-year-old Colby Thomas, who was seen operating a 2014 Subaru. Officers contacted Thomas at his residence, where he reportedly admitted to committing burglary and possessing burglary tools, Wasson said.

According to Campbell County court records, Thomas was arraigned for both felony charges on March 10 before Circuit Court Judge Paul S. Phillips.
