GILLETTE, Wyo. — Here is a summary of notable crimes in and around Gillette yesterday, March 5, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Gillette Police Department and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.  

Theft, March 5, Cottonwood Lane, GPD

Officers responded to Cottonwood Lane around 7:22 a.m. to investigate a theft report from a 43-year-old man, Deputy Police Chief Brent Wasson said. The man said someone stole a go-kart and miscellaneous tools between March 4 and March 5. The items were valued around $450, and the investigation is ongoing.

Theft, March 5, Dogwood Avenue, GPD

A 38-year-old man on Dogwood Avenue called the police around 10:59 a.m. to report never receiving his $90 gaming chair that should have been delivered to his home, Wasson said. The man said the chair was supposedly delivered by FedEx; however, he never got it and the company believes it could have delivered it to the wrong address. The investigation is ongoing.

Fraud, March 5, South Douglas Highway, GPD

Officers responded to a department store on South Douglas Highway at 3:38 p.m. after a 78-year-old man called to report seeing $400 in unauthorized charges on his credit card account, Wasson said. The man said no one was authorized to use his account and he didn’t believe anyone else had access. Loss prevention staff members are assisting in finding the transactions to identify suspects, and the man was reimbursed the money.
