GILLETTE, Wyo. — Here is a summary of notable crimes in and around Gillette yesterday, March 3, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Gillette Police Department and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.  

Death, March 3, Apricot Street, GPD

Detectives responded alongside the Campbell County Coroner’s Office to a 76-year-old woman’s report that her husband, 77, had died, Deputy Police Chief Brent Wasson said. There were no signs of foul play, and the investigation is ongoing.

Breach of peace, March 3, Camel Drive, GPD

A Campbell County High School principal called officers around 11:14 a.m. to report being threatened by a 15-year-old boy, Wasson said. The boy was reportedly upset over his phone being taken away and was cited for breach of peace.

DWUI, March 3, 4-J Road, GPD

Officers arrested a 39-year-old woman for impaired driving after responding to reports of a potential drunk driver near 4-J Road and Brorby Boulevard around 5:56 p.m., Wasson said. The report alleged a GMC was swerving on the roadway and jumping curbs. When officers stopped the vehicle, they contacted the 39-year-old, who reportedly smelled of alcohol and appeared intoxicated. She was arrested after failing field sobriety tests.
