LARAMIE, Wyo. — A Wyoming man died in the early hours of Friday, Feb. 21 in Albany County after fatally colliding with a semi. According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the car’s passenger, identified as 51-year-old Jose Manuel Aldaz, was not wearing a seat belt as the car drove in the wrong lane.
The reporting agency also noted that, despite clear conditions, the road itself was wet. No other possible contributing factors were included.
The incident happened precisely at 12:17 a.m. at milepost 316.4 along Interstate 80 right outside of Laramie. Aldaz was the car’s passenger — the driver was reportedly uninjured. The WHP reported that the car subject to the crash, a Subaru Impreza, was heading west in the road’s eastbound lane. The reason why was not disclosed.
According to the WHP, the driver of the semi, a Freightliner, was uninjured.
