(Ryan Lewallen/County 17)

GILLETTE, Wyo. — A Sunday morning pursuit involving a man wanted for a parole violation ended after the suspect crashed his vehicle into a concrete culvert south of Northern Drive, Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds said.

According to the report, deputies observed a black Ford Escape around 11 a.m. Feb. 2 near East Warlow Drive and Garner Lake Road. The vehicle was associated with a 24-year-old man they knew had an active warrant.

Reynolds said deputies tried to stop the vehicle but it fled northbound on North Garner Lake Road and was pursued into a nearby subdivision.

The vehicle reportedly crashed into a concrete culvert while attempting to cross a pasture between Orange Creek Drive and Plumcreek Drive. The 24-year-old exited the vehicle and fled west on foot followed by pursuing deputies, per Reynolds.

According to the report, the 24-year-old was found hiding in a chicken coop on Boysen Creek Drive, where he was ultimately taken into custody. In addition to the warrant for absconding correctional supervision, the man was charged with eluding, reckless driving and driving without a license.
