GILLETTE, Wyo. — Gillette remains under a winter weather advisory as a storm system continues to bring snow and strong winds to the region.

Campbell County should prepare for another round of winter weather today as a cold front moves through the region. Snow is likely, mainly before 2 p.m., with the possibility of 1–2 inches of accumulation. Patchy blowing snow is expected after 1 p.m., which could reduce visibility on the roads.

At 6:30 a.m., the Wyoming Department of Transportation reported all area roads as being slick with snowfall and blowing snow. No travel advisories had been issued at the time.

Along with the snow, strong winds are expected throughout the day. A northwest wind of 21–25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph, will make for a blustery day. Windchill values could drop to as low as 3 degrees.

The snow is expected to continue tonight, with another 1–2 inches possible. While Thursday will see a break in the snow and wind during the day, another round of light snow is possible Thursday night into Friday morning.

Snow will continue through Thursday morning, with most accumulation in northeast Wyoming and the northern Black Hills. Northwest winds of up to 55 mph are possible. (National Weather Service graphic)

Early next week looks promising with mostly sunny skies and temperatures climbing into the low 30s by Tuesday.
