GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Campbell County Board of Commissioners approved the renewal of a grazing lease agreement with Wyodak Resources Development Corp. for a 596-acre parcel of land on the Space Ranch property. The lease, effective through Dec. 31, 2025, was granted for a fee of $2,384, or about $4 per acre.

The agreement represents a continuation of the long-standing arrangement between Wyodak Resources Development Corp. and the county, with no changes to the commercial terms. The only modification to the lease is the inclusion of a standard governmental immunity clause, according to Commissioner Jim Ford.

The land in question is situated on the northeast corner of the Space Ranch property and includes a road easement that connects to Highway 51. This easement also provides access to oil and gas wells operated on the property.

The lease renewal was recommended by Ford, who noted that the agreement aligns with the board’s intention to lease all or part of the Space Ranch for grazing purposes. He also confirmed that the leased land is not impacted by any ongoing operations or reclamation efforts at the nearby Wyodak mine and power plant complex.

The agreement is attached below:
