CASPER, Wyo. — On the day of President Donald Trump’s inauguration, Wyoming leaders are offering their well-wishes to the newly elected 47th President of the United States.
Senators Barrasso and Lummis met with Trump in the days leading up to the inauguration, and both had nothing but praise for the president.
“Senator Lummis and I had a great time talking with President Trump this morning,” Senator Barrasso wrote on his Facebook page. “Wyoming is ready for Inauguration Day tomorrow!”
Echoing Sen. Barrasso’s thoughts, Sen. Cynthia Lummis took to her own Facebook page Monday morning to speak on behalf of Wyoming’s people.
“After four years of enduring sky-high prices for everyday essentials, the people of Wyoming are ecstatic to welcome back President Trump, knowing that he will put the American people first,” Sen. Lummis wrote. “President Trump reaffirmed his commitment to restoring the American economy and slashing Biden’s burdensome red tape that hogtied the Cowboy State and empowered unelected bureaucrats.”
At his inauguration, surrounded by high-profile personalities such as Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos and others, Trump reaffirmed his plan to “Drill, baby, drill.”
“We will be a rich nation again, and it is that liquid gold under our feet that will help to do it,” Trump stated in his inauguration address.
Sen. Lummis continued to extol the promises made by President Trump, including his policies regarding immigration and the economy.
“Under President Trump’s leadership, we will restore order at our southern border, unleash American energy, and put hardworking Americans first,” she wrote. “Together, we will make America strong again, and I look forward to working with his administration to create a better life for Wyoming families.”
