GILLETTE, Wyo. — A new ordinance in Gillette is requiring all food truck or mobile food vendors to acquire a permit in order to operate within the city limits, beginning in 2025.
That’s according to a social media post from the Campbell County Fire Department. which stated that potential vendors can acquire their permit at the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall.
Cost for a permit, which is valid for the calendar year, is $75.
According to the post, 2025 permits will be printed on orange paper and must be openly displayed while operating. Additionally, a fire department safety inspection is required before obtaining a permit.
“This permit ensures the safety of our community by verifying that mobile food vendors meet health and safety standards,” the post stated.
The permit applies to vendors selling hot food, drinks, ice cream, sandwiches and any consumable products, including those sold at farmers markets, bazaars and similar events.
