CASPER, Wyo. — A California man died and four others were injured in a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 191 north of Rock Springs last Saturday, according to preliminary information in a Wyoming Highway Patrol report.
A Ford Ranger was southbound around mile marker 15.8 when it slowly drifted into the northbound travel lanes, where it struck a northbound GMC Sierra head-on, the report said.
The crash was reported around 2:30 p.m. Jan. 4. Dry conditions but extreme winds were noted in the report.
Allen Hull Jr., 65, reportedly died in the crash. He was one of the drivers and was using a seat belt, according to information in the report. Driver inattention, fatigue or a possible medical condition are noted as possible contributing factors.
