10 Wyoming counties to pay for use of Campbell County Juvenile Detention Center

GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Campbell County Juvenile Detention Center will be available for use by 10 other Wyoming counties following Board of Commissioners action Tuesday morning.

As part of the board’s consent agenda, Campbell County’s commissioners approved the 10 memoranda of understanding that outline the scope and costs of services. The agreements include Big Horn, Converse, Crook, Johnson, Natrona, Niobrara, Sheridan, Sweetwater, Washakie and Weston counties.

Per the agreements, the counties will pay $150 per day for each juvenile detainee incarcerated in the facility. Services do not include transportation to and from their county of origin. Campbell County will furnish medical resources and invoice the juvenile’s county the following:

  • Physical exam (after seven days): $183
  • Physical labs: $66
  • STD screen: $14
  • Sick call: $102 per juvenile per visit
  • Prescription medication: actual cost
  • Transport fee: $20 per appointment

The counties will be responsible for any additional medical costs as well.
