Blakely Dawn Lock

Blakely Dawn Lock: 2023 – 2024

The world was brighter on October 23, 2023 when Blakely Dawn Lock was born.  She lit up the lives of all who knew her until, like only the brightest stars, her light burned out far too soon and long before we were ready on December 23, 2024.

Born to her adoring parents, Seth and Chantel Lock, Blakely was the perfect baby sister of the family. With her two big brothers to protect her from her one wild big sister, her calm disposition and soft sweet grin always brought a smile to every situation.

At eight months old, she spoke her first words, and it was a surprise to nobody that it was Dada. Dada was soon followed by mama, bubba, sissy, Nana, baby and puppy. From her early vocabulary, it was obvious that Blakely loved her family.

With her bright blue eyes, a contagious laugh, and an endearing disposition Blakely managed to avoid needing to learn how to walk.  It was never really a necessary skill as she had never been set down long enough for it to be required. That time in her family’s arms is not something they will ever forget.

Miss B loved mac & cheese and applesauce and anything salty – And the dogs had a great appreciation for everything she didn’t like as she figured out early on how that relationship worked.

Although she loved to play and had many toys, her favorite toys were always the ones that were not really intended to be toys or that belong to her brothers.

Lucky to have a close family with both sets of grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, and cousins nearby Miss B or Butter Bean as they affectionately called her — was surrounded in love every single day of her short life.

Blakely is survived by : Seth and Chantel (Cunningham) Lock  (parents); Weston, Ryder and Maizie Lock (siblings); Shawn and Nanette Cunningham and Richard and Suzan Lock (grandparents); Lacy (Jason) Jensen, Mercedes (Brayden) Taylor, Austin (Ashton) Cunningham, Michael Cunningham, Tristen (Cody) Brosa; along with many cousins, and family friends.

Services are being held January 4, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2903 Allen Ave, Gillette, WY 82718.
