GILLETTE, Wyo. — Campbell County 4-H educator Kim Fry has received the 2024 Jim Debree Excellence in Extension Award.
That’s according to a press release from UW Extension, which stated that Fry was given the award due to her “welcoming attitude, dedication, and effective educational programming.”
The release states that the Jim Debree Excellence in Extension award recognizes employees who have worked for the UW Extension for at least five years and have demonstrated a high level of professional performance.
Kim Fry very much fits that bill.
Fry has been a Campbell County 4-H youth development educator for more than 10 years, and, the release states, she goes out of her way to reach out to new hires and various community members.
“Kim is very good at making our office a welcoming place for anyone who enters,” one nominator stated.
Fry has helped the Campbell County 4-H camp to become the largest 4-H camp in Wyoming. In 2022, Fry created a user-friendly manual that has “helped revitalize Wyoming 4-H wool-judging programs,” the release states. The manual received recognition from the National Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals.
