CASPER, Wyo. — The University of Wyoming has produced several NFL players currently making an impact. Here’s how they did in the most recent week’s slate of games.
Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
Bills star Josh Allen was a sensation on Sunday, following up a stellar Week 14 outing with a performance just as strong against the Detroit Lions. With Allen at the helm, the Bills prevailed 48–42.
Allen was 23-of-34 on passing attempts, throwing for 362 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the process. He also picked up 68 more yards on the ground and ran in a pair of touchdowns.
The star QB has thrown for 3,395 yards so far this season, ranking eighth in the league. His 25 passing TDs are sixth best in the NFL.
Frank Crum, Denver Broncos
Rookie offensive lineman Frank Crum was inactive again in his team’s 31–13 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
Crum has not taken the field since a Week 8 win over the Carolina Panthers.
Tashaun Gipson, San Francisco 49ers
Veteran safety Tashaun Gipson, who missed the first nine weeks of the season due to a suspension, recorded his first statistics of the year against the Los Angeles Rams in a Thursday Night Football matchup, though his team fell 12–6.
Gipson recorded three tackles in the game, and also finished with a pass broken up.
Though a key part of the Niners’ defense in the 2023–24 season, the team has been slowly easing him back into the lineup since his return in Week 10. This week also saw him play by far the most snaps of the season, as he took the field for just under half of the team’s special teams downs and roughly a quarter of the defensive plays.
Carl Granderson, New Orleans Saints
Defensive end Carl Granderson put together one of his best performances of the season on Sunday. However, his team came up just short in a 20–19 heartbreaker.
Granderson finished with six tackles, a sack and another quarterback hit, a tackle for a loss and a broken-up pass.
Thus far in the season, Granderson boasts 50 tackles and 5.5 sacks.
Chad Muma, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jaguars safety Chad Muma did not record a statistic in his team’s 32–25 loss to the New York Jets. He lined up for a majority of the Jaguars’ special teams downs, but did not take the field for a defensive snap.
For the season, Muma has 31 tackles.
Logan Wilson, Cincinnati Bengals
Casper native Logan Wilson did not play again in Week 15 after being placed on the injured reserve ahead of the Bengals’ Week 14 game. Wilson is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
If his season is truly over, he will finish the year with 104 tackles, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
Andrew Wingard, Jacksonville Jaguars
Andrew Wingard did not record a statistic in the Jaguars’ loss in Week 15.
Similar to Gipson, Wingard missed the majority of the season before rejoining his teammates on the field in recent weeks. However, Wingard was inactive due to an injury that sidelined him.
