GILLETTE, Wyo. — Pronghorn Elementary School has exceeded the state average in all content areas except for one, sixth-grade ELA.

That was part of Principal Brian Brandon’s report to the Campbell County School District 1 Board of Trustees on Tuesday. He also reported the school has seen significant gains in third- and fourth-grade ELA and math scores.

The school’s certified staff have remained consistent over the years, while the classified staff numbers have increased due to the growth of the Autism Spectrum program. The school’s enrollment has fluctuated and is down this year, but the school is prepared for any student, Brandon said.

Pronghorn Elementary School has shown progress in overall school performance, with a score of 67, just one point away from receiving targets. The school has also focused on equity and has seen growth in student achievement.

School staff have set goals to exceed the state average in ELA, math and science. They are also focusing on student well-being and have revitalized their PBIS, or Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports, team.

The school aims to increase its growth score by at least eight points and continue meeting expectations on equity and achievement indicators.

Brandon emphasized the importance of teamwork and collaboration among staff to achieve the goals. He also highlighted the strong leadership within the school and the dedication of the staff to improve student outcomes.

The meeting was recorded and is archived on GPA-TV Channel 189.
