GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Gillette Community College District Board of Trustees’ members began their terms anew this week with seven trustees being sworn into office, the college district announced Friday.

According to a Dec. 6 release, Tracy Wasserburger, Josh McGrath, Nello Williams, Robert Palmer, Terry Anderson, Larry Smith and Ellis Day were sworn into office on Dec. 5. Of the seven of them, only Ellis is new to the table, with the others retaining their respective seats during the 2024 general election.

Per the release, Day is stepping into the seat previously occupied by Allison Ochs-Gee, who did not seek reelection. The college district says her decision makes way for new leadership while leaving behind a legacy of service.

“We’re pleased to welcome Trustee Ellis Day to our board,” District President Dr. Janell Oberlander said in a statement. “We look forward to his contributions and to continuing our work with our re-elected members to support the mission of Gillette College.”

Moving forward, the board intends to focus on advancing the college’s mission and enhancing educational opportunities for all students, according to the release.

“As they embark on another term, the trustees are committed to collaborating with stakeholders to foster innovation and growth as the institution continues its work toward accreditation,” the release states.
