Snow possible Sunday after warmer Saturday

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Campbell County could see some wintry weather on Sunday, but forecasts for Saturday indicate an unseasonably warm start to the weekend.

Today is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a high temperature of 57 degrees. The National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota, reports windy conditions are likely, with a southwest wind of up to 22 mph and gusts of up to 36 mph.

After sundown, temperatures should fall to a low of around 21. Winds are expected to slightly die down, dropping to speeds of roughly 15 mph with gusts near 20 mph.

On Sunday, the NWS in Rapid City reports a 20% chance of snow showers throughout the day. The Gillette area is likely to see a high temperature below freezing, near 27 degrees. Windchill values could fall as low as 13, the NWS in Rapid City reports.
