GILLETTE, Wyo. — Here is a summary of notable crimes in and around Gillette yesterday, Nov. 21, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Gillette Police Department and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.
Property destruction, Nov. 21, West 4th Avenue, GPD
Officers were dispatched to West 4th Avenue around 8:40 a.m. to investigate reported property destruction, Gillette Deputy Police Chief Brent Wasson said. A 35-year-old woman said someone broke the windshield of her 17-year-old son’s 2013 Ford sometime after 8 p.m. Nov. 20. The damage was estimated at $1,000, and the investigation is ongoing.
Crash, Nov. 21, South Douglas Highway, GPD
A 24-year-old man was transported to the hospital after allegedly crashing his 2014 Ford at the Central Exchange around 5:53 p.m., Wasson said. According to the report, the man rear-ended a 30-year-old woman’s vehicle, resulting in over $1,000 in damage. He was cited for following too closely.
DWUI, Nov. 21, Highway 14-16, CCSO
Deputies responded to Highway 14-16 for a report of a potential drunk driver around 11:07 p.m., ultimately arresting a 38-year-old woman, Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds said. According to the report, the original call said a blue pickup truck was driving slowly on the highway and the sidewalk. The vehicle reportedly crashed through a fence and into a metal storage yard. Deputies located the vehicle and contacted the woman, who admitted to consuming shots of Crown Royal. She refused field sobriety tests and was subsequently taken into custody.
