C17 Crime Clips for Friday, Nov. 8

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Here is a summary of notable crimes in and around Gillette yesterday, Nov. 7, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Gillette Police Department and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.  

Unattended death, Nov. 7, North Highway 14-16, GPD

A 56-year-old man was found deceased in his residence on North Highway 14-16 around 7:14 a.m., Gillette Police Capt. Kelly Alger said. The man hadn’t shown up for work for the past few days and his coworkers went to his residence to check on him. No foul play is suspected, and the investigation is ongoing.

Drugs, Nov. 7, Juniper Lane, CCSO

Deputies responded to Juniper Lane around 1:17 p.m. to look for a 44-year-old man they knew had extraditable warrants, Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds said. After locating the man and taking him into custody, a search incident to his arrest yielded 5.59 grams of suspected marijuana and a gram of methamphetamine. He was charged with two counts of felony drug possession.

Crash, Nov. 7, West 1st Street, GPD

An 81-year-old woman was transported to the hospital around 3:07 p.m. following a two-vehicle collision on West 1st Street, Alger said. The crash was caused by a 25-year-old man who attempted a left-hand turn in a 2010 GMC in front of the woman’s westbound 2007 Lincoln. The woman was transported for shoulder and neck pain while the man was cited for improper lookout and driving without insurance.

Drugs, Nov. 7, Wright Boulevard, CCSO

Reynolds said deputies responded to a bank in Wright after staff called to report a man with blood on his hands around 3:58 p.m. The man had a warrant and was subsequently arrested. A search yielded a THC vaping device containing .10 grams of suspected THC liquid, resulting in a drug possession charge. The report did not specify why the man had blood on his hands.

DWUI, Nov. 7, Wolff Road, GPD

Officers responded to the intersection of Wolff Road and Pheasant Drive for a report of a vehicle stopped in the road after hitting a street sign around 9:56 p.m., Alger said. They contacted a 44-year-old man in a 2007 GMC who displayed signs of intoxication. He was taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests for his fourth DWUI in 10 years, a felony.

Drugs, Nov. 8, Hemlock Avenue, CCSO

Deputies arrested a 56-year-old man for drug possession after making consensual contact with him and two others on Hemlock Avenue around 12:18 a.m., Reynolds said. During the contact, deputies uncovered a nylon case with baggies of meth inside. The 56-year-old claimed the items and was taken into custody.
