GILLETTE, Wyo. — During its regular meeting Tuesday, the Gillette City Council gave city staff permission to solicit sealed bids for a small parcel of land at 101 N. Gillette Ave.
The action is being taken to resolve an encroachment issue involving Lula Belle Cafe, a city document states.
The café built two vestibules that inadvertently extend onto city property. To rectify this, the city wants to explore transferring the affected portion of land to Lula Belle. However, Wyoming state law requires that municipal property valued at $500 or more be sold through a public auction or sealed bid process.
City staff recommended the sealed bid approach.
