GILLETTE, Wyo. — Three men were arrested Halloween night after a verbal altercation at a bar escalated and ended in a fourth man being stabbed in the leg with a knife, Gillette Deputy Police Chief Brent Wasson said Friday.
The alleged stabbing took place in the parking lot of a hotel at Skyline Drive and Highway 14-16 around 9:05 p.m. Oct. 31. The 42-year-old man who was stabbed was reportedly pursued by two 27-year-old men and a 24-year-old man after he fled a nearby bar following an argument, Wasson said.
The men pursued the 42-year-old man to a hotel, where the group assaulted him with their hands and feet. At one point, the 42-year-old man was stabbed in his right leg with a knife officers learned belonged to him, per Wasson.
According to the report, the 42-year-old man was transported to the hospital for treatment while the three pursuing men were taken into custody. Arrest records indicate the men were arrested for felony aggravated assault.
Campbell County court documents, however, say only one man, Justus Pearson, has been charged with felony aggravated assault for his alleged involvement. The two other men believed to have been involved in the assault, Preston Relkin and Rye Sorenson, have been charged with conspiring to commit aggravated assault as well as battery.
All three men were arraigned in Circuit Court on Friday, Nov. 1 before Judge Wendy M. Bartlett.
