A deputy attempted to stop a tan Toyota Corolla with plates that were registered to a black Ford SUV, CCSO Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds said. The vehicle parked at the parking lot of the Prairie View apartments, and the passenger and driver fled in separate directions, Reynolds said. Backup was called and one deputy located the passenger, who had an active arrest warrant and small baggie of presumptive-positive methamphetamine.
Gillette police officers located the driver in the backyard of a residence on Sunset Drive. The driver also had an active arrest warrant. K-9 Spike alerted on the Corolla, and presumptive-positive marijuana was found within. Both men were charged with third-time possession of a controlled substance and interference with a peace officer. The driver was also charged with having no valid registration and driving under suspension.

A woman called deputies to report a fight between her and her live-in boyfriend, reportedly over a recent crash report. Deputies said the woman sounded intoxicated and ended up not wanting to file the report. Deputies went to the residence and, while speaking with the woman, observed a small wooden box that they recognized as a box for a “one-hitter.” A small metal pipe and a gram of presumptive-positive marijuana was found within. The woman was placed under arrest.
