Family Fight, Oct. 17, Medicine Lodge Road, CCSO
Deputies responded to a residence on Medicine Lodge Road after a 26-year-old woman called the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office shortly after 9 a.m. to report a verbal argument between her and her husband, 23. The woman said she was concerned because he had made verbal threats to murder her the previous night, but had not harmed her physically in any way. When they contacted the woman at her home, she described him as her “ex,” though it was unclear to deputies if they were actually divorced. The woman was unharmed when speaking to deputies, who put her in contact with the Gillette Abuse Refuge Foundation to meet for an appointment.
When deputies spoke to the husband, he denied making the threats, saying that he and the woman had been arguing over the last six months over whether or not to sell the home, and also stated he wanted to leave the relationship but she wanted him to stay. He said there was a child involved in their relationship and asked deputies about what steps to take to be able to gain custody.
Breach of Peace, Oct. 17, Hannum Road, CCSO
A 61-year-old man contacted the CCSO for suspicious activity on Hannum Road after seeing a man yelling and throwing items from a camper trailer. Deputies made contact with the man, whom they were familiar with from previous interactions. The man, 58, told deputies he was upset because the property was owned by his deceased mother and he did not know who placed the trailer on the property. Deputies were able to subdue the man, and left the area without making an arrest.
Family Fight, Oct. 17, Antelope Valley Street, CCSO
Deputies responded to a home on Antelope Valley Street for a call from a 13-year-old girl for a verbal argument between two siblings at the residence. The other brother and sister, ages 21 and 19, respectively, admitted to having a “boisterous” verbal argument over a cat that had gotten loose from the house. Other witnesses to the argument corroborated their explanation, and no further action was taken in the incident.
Blackmail, Oct. 17, CCSO
A 43-year-old woman contacted the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office to report a phone scam. The woman said her teenage son had exchanged explicit photos with someone over Snapchat, and the person was now demanding $300 from the boy. No further action was taken and no suspects were able to be identified due to the anonymous account.
