GILLETTE, Wyo. — Gillette Safety Manager Randy Milliron has been awarded the Safety Professional of the Year in the Public Sector by the American Society of Safety Professionals.
The award recognizes people who have made outstanding contributions to their field, city documents state. Milliron was nominated by a peer and chosen for his safety record and dedication to the profession.
“Randy has presented at the National Safety Conferences such as the ASSP, the Bureau of Certified Safety Professionals, the National Safety Council and Society of Human Resource chapter meetings. He not only presents but also volunteers in these societies,” a city document states.
Milliron has an extensive list of safety credentials, including Safety Management Specialist, certified Emergency Medical Responder and certifications in Mine Safety and Occupational Hearing Conservation. He is also a Mine Safety and Health Administration–certified instructor. He has been with the city of Gillette since January 2016 and has worked in the safety profession since 1997.
Milliron is now in the running for the overall ASSP Safety Professional of the Year award.
