Gillette Council to consider $180K debt write-off, liquor license requests tonight

GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Gillette City Council will consider writing off over $180,000 in uncollectable debt from general billing and utility accounts when it meets today.

The council will meet at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers, 201 E. 15th St. in Gillette. The full agenda is available by clicking here. Council meetings are livestreamed on GPA-TV.

Also on the agenda are public hearings regarding a new restaurant liquor license for Cinco de Mayo, located at 103 E. 3rd St., and the transfer of ownership and location of a retail liquor license from Energy Lanes to Big D Oil Co.

The council will consider awarding a bid for the 2025 O’Henry Court Drainage Project and accepting public improvements for the 2024 Crack Seal and Chip Seal projects.

A proposed ordinance to amend zoning regulations to allow K–12 transportation facilities will receive its third and final reading. The council will also consider a resolution to approve a minor subdivision in the Peterson Subdivision.

The meeting will also include a proclamation designating October 2024 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month and recognition of the American Society of Safety Professionals’ Safety Professional of the Year Award in the Public Sector. A street closure request for a Trunk-or-Treat event on Oct. 31 will be considered as well.
