GILLETTE, Wyo. — October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and providers in Gillette are hosting free events to do important preventative screening and education for other important aspects of women’s health. Read on for a roundup of events and online resources.
CCH Free Breast Exam Event
Campbell County Health will be hosting a free event to allow women of all ages to access important preventative screening for breast cancer at no cost. The event will take place at CCH, located at 501 S. Burma Ave., on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All exam results are confidential. To schedule an exam, call CCH at 307-688-1000 and use the extension 1583.
Free Screening Assistance
The Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative and the Wyoming Cancer Program work in partnership with each other to offer financial assistance to women across the state who would otherwise be unable to afford testing for breast cancer. There are no restrictions on age, income or insurance status to qualify. To learn more, click here.
Empower Her: Insights into Women’s Health
This month-long event series hosted by UW Extension Community Vitality and Health will focus on a wide range of health topics for women of all ages. All discussions will be hosted with medical professionals and take place at the Cottonwood Room of the George Amos Memorial Building from 6 to 8 p.m. on their respective date. Those who attend all four discussions are entered into a drawing for a gift basket. To register, click here.
