Larry Dean Broers: 1944 – 2024
Larry Dean Broers, 79, of Rozet, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024, at Campbell County Health. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30 at Gillette Memorial Chapel, 210 W. 5th St. in Gillette. Burial and graveside service will follow at the Gillette Cemetery.
Larry was born Nov. 18, 1944 to Evelyn McClun and Fred Broers in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He grew up mostly in the Torrington area. He attended Torrington High School and graduated in 1963. After graduation he went to the national guard for several years and then came home to be a farmer.
In later years, he became a welder at the coal mines where he eventually retired to Rozet. He married Barbara Booth in 1968 and had two children, Laura and John. They divorced and later in life, through his work, he met his love Alexienne “Lexie” and her two daughters, Vieka and Krista. He and Lexie were married in 1991 in Gillette.
Larry’s greatest accomplishment was his family. He was always wanting to help and make sure his loved ones were taken care of. He would go out of his way for others and any stranger that met him, would quickly love his kind heart. Larry touched so many lives and was loved by all who met him. His compassion to help others, big heart, big smile, and sense of humor, will be greatly missed.
Larry enjoyed working in his shop, especially welding and carpentry. He spent a lot of time creating and tinkering with things to learn how they work. He loved watching wild animals and spending time with his dogs and family at home.
Larry is survived by his children: Laura Broers, John and Michelle Broers, Vieka and Tom Hudson, and Krista and Mark Wigner; grandchildren: Brytney, Kasey, Elly, Maddi, Markus, Tori, Kati; siblings, Karen McCabe, Janet Broers; and step-sisters: Barbara and Joe Peterson, Betty Able, Sandy and Bill Lummus, Janice and Art Shields; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lexie; parents, Evelyn and Louis Zavorka and Fred Broers; stepsister, Linda and Ralph VanWinkle; and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
Deloris Rouse: 1955 – 2024
Deloris Rouse passed away, September 25, 2024, while surrounded by family, at the age of 69, due to heart complications.
Delores Rouse was born in Pineville Kentucky on July 23, 1955, to Frances Avery Rouse and Ruby Mae Harness. She was the second of three children. As a child, she moved between Kentucky and Michigan, but always longed to return to the hills and hollers of Kentucky. She worked in the medical field, electrical field and a few of her own business endeavors. Although, she ultimately chose to stay home to raise her family.
She moved her family to Wyoming in 1991 in search of a better life. She was very much a family-oriented person and her greatest accomplishment in life, was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was an avid reader and loved to garden. Her hobbies included collecting butterflies, chimes and cooking for her family. She loved trying out new recipes. She adored family celebrations and holidays where she was surrounded by loved ones. She was “Mom” to most and “Granny” to the rest. She was an incredible woman who created a family legacy that will be carried on for many generations.
She was preceded in death by her mother; father; sister; and her son, Lester Phillips Tindell. She is survived by her brother, Phillip Rouse of Douglas; her oldest daughter, Tammy Lange of Gillette; her sons, James Yates Jr. of North Carolina and Adam (Kristy) Tindell of Gillette; and her daughters, Billie (Rick) Howell of Gillette and Bobbie Tindell of Kansas; her grandchildren: Kevin Lange, Hugo Hernandez, Jr., Ryan Tindell, Stormi Simerson, Alexandra Hernandez, JoAnna Henderson, Blaize Shaw, Johnathan Tindell, Caitlyn Milligan, Ryan Milligan, Nathan Pippin, John Milligan, Serena Yates, Zane Yates and Alicia Tindell; her great-grandchildren: Araia Shaw, Julianna Hernandez, Cysen Ward, Josiah Kebert, Talyn Shaw, Christina Kebert, Kaston Lange, Nora Shaw, Amelia Hernandez, Kia Simerson, Sofia Henderson, Lilith Kebert, Baby Boy Hernandez (due Oct 2024) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Peggy Jean Sanders: 1950 – 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Peggy Jean Sanders on September 24, 2024 in her home surrounded by her family, at the age of 74.
Peggy was born on April 23, 1950 in Powell, Wyoming and lived her life as a testament to love, resilience and strength.
Peggy is survived by her sister, Debby Worth; her beloved children: Jodie Benjamin, Perry Gass and his wife, Hillary, Kellie Lopez and her husband, James, Denise Hatzenbuhler and her husband, Larry, Rachelle Sanchez and her wife, Deyanira.
She was the proud grandmother of Jeremy Gass, Josh Benjamin, John Lopez the third, Kara Campbell, Laci Lopez, Jeanie Lopez, Kara Gass, Teara Leibee, Shown Gunnels, Farrah Gass, NaTasha Benjamin, Sophia May, Kaiden Ray. A great-grandmother to 17 great-grandchildren. Also, an aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She is now reunited with her siblings: Art Sanders, Dee Riley, Pat Tangney, Ricky Sanders.
Peggy was known for her big heart and fierce love for her family. She worked tirelessly as a single mother, ensuring her children always had what they needed, often going without herself to make that possible. Stubborn as she was loving, Peggy approached life with generosity that extended beyond her family to everyone she encountered. She found joy in the simple things- fishing, smoking her cigarettes, listening to audiobooks, playing games on her computer, and always putting others first.
Despite the challenges she faced, Peggy never complained and remained a pillar of strength for her family. She was the best mother anyone could ask for and will be remembered for her warmth, her unwavering care, and her hard work. Peggy will be deeply missed by all who knew her and her giving spirit will remain with us forever.
