FREMONT COUNTY, Wyo. — An urgent evacuation notice has been issued by the Fremont County Emergency Management Agency for various areas near the Fish Creek Fire and Pack Trail Fire, including:
- Brooks Lake Rd, East & West Pinnacle Dr, Breccia Dr and US Hwy 26: Togwotee Pass from MP 30-42 Long Creek subdivision, lava Mountain subdivisions, Triangle C Ranch, old KOA, urban subdivision, including Timberline Ranch and Rawhide Ranches.
The evacuation notice was issued just after 2:30 PM on Sunday, September 29.
As of 3:10 PM, a Level 2 “SET” Evacuation Notice has also been issued for Union Pass Road and Absaroka Ranch Road. A Level 2 Evacuation means “BE SET” to evacuate. You must prepare to leave at a moment’s notice.
Andrea Ladd from the Fremont County Emergency Management Agency shared with County 10 that evacuees can take livestock to the rodeo grounds, and that they are currently working on a shelter for people. This post will be updated with that information as soon as we receive it.

Subject: Immediate Evacuation Required
“Dear Brooks Lake Rd, East & West Pinnacle Dr, Breccia Dr and US Hwy 26: Togwotee Pass from MP 30-35 * Residents and Occupants, this is an urgent notice regarding an immediate evacuation of the building. Due to the Fish Creek Fire, your safety is our top priority.“
Evacuation Instructions:
1. Leave Immediately: Please evacuate the area as soon as possible by traveling south to Highway 26-287 then East to Dubois, Wyoming.
2. Gather Essentials: Take only essential items with you.
3. Follow Directions: Follow the instructions of emergency personnel.
4. Assistance: If you require assistance with evacuation or have specific needs, please contact the Fremont County Sheriff’s Department at 911 or immediately.
5. Stay Informed: For updates and further instructions, keep tuned to the United States Forest Service-Bridger Teton National Forest.
6. Facilities will be open for sheltering at the Dubois Rodeo Grounds for the livestock and a Redcross shelter is being set up for residents. Information to follow.
