CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A Texas man died in a single-vehicle rollover crash Wednesday night, Sept. 18, on the Interstate 25 service road near Casper, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 10 p.m. when Gerardo Hernandez Gonzalez, 35, of Texas, was driving a Toyota Sienna north near milepost 9.7. The vehicle exited the roadway to the right, traveled down the shoulder and then reentered the road after a correction. Gonzalez overcorrected again, causing the vehicle to slide and roll.

Gonzalez, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said speed and driver inattention are thought to have contributed to the crash, though further investigation is ongoing. Road and weather conditions were clear and dry, and no other vehicles were involved.
