GILLETTE, Wyo. — Community education seminars intended to teach residents how to keep their children safe from drugs and alcohol are coming to Gillette this fall.
On Sept. 30, Officer Jermaine Galloway, a former law enforcement professional with over 20 years of experience, will speak during the High in Plain Sight Community Presentation in the CCHS Auditorium. The event is free to attend with dinner and childcare provided starting at 6 p.m., per the event flyer.
During the presentation, attendees can expect to learn easy tips to spot drug and alcohol dangers, gain ideas on how to keep their families safe and hear about the latest drug trends through a fun and engaging talk, the flyer says.
On Oct. 1, Galloway will lead two three-hour High in Plain Sight drug trend training sessions at the CAM-PLEX Heritage Center Theater, 1635 Reata Drive. One begins at 8:30 a.m. and the other starts at 1 p.m.
The training sessions will provide current drug and alcohol trends, prevention strategies, identification skills, legal insights and notes on community impact. Per the flyer, the training is a must for law enforcement, educators, community leaders and anyone committed to preventing drug and alcohol abuse.
Interested residents may register online for the Oct. 1 event with limited seats available, the flyer states.
