GILLETTE, Wyo. — Campbell County can expect dry weather with slowly warming temperatures this week.
Highs will climb from the high 60s to the high 80s by midweek, with the warmest day likely on Thursday. Although a slight cooldown is expected in the late week into the weekend, temperatures will remain above average, according to the National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Today’s forecast calls for a high of 69 under mostly cloudy skies. Winds will come from the west at 7–16 mph, shifting to the northwest this afternoon. Gusts could reach 26 mph. Winds will pick up slightly tonight to 11–16 mph but fall after midnight to 5–10 mph. Skies will remain partly cloudy. The low will be near 45.
Tuesday’s high will climb to 75 under sunny skies. West winds of 7–13 mph will shift to the north in the afternoon. Gusts of up to 22 mph will be possible. Tuesday night will be mostly clear with a low near 49.
Sunny skies are forecast for the rest of the week as temperatures climb. Wednesday winds will usher in a warmer Thursday. Temps will drop slightly into the weekend, but remain around 80.
