Wind, sun today with cooler weekend ahead in Gillette

GILLETTE, Wyo. — A stacked low-pressure system is causing dry, gusty westerly winds across northeastern Wyoming and northwestern South Dakota today.

Sunny skies are expected over Gillette with a high of 73. Gusts today will be as high as 25 mph, and then fall to around 18 mph tonight. Skies tonight will be mostly clear as the low falls to around 45.

Temperatures will warm to 80 degrees Friday as dry westerly flow aloft continues. A cold front associated with an upper trough along the British Columbia coast will move through late Friday, bringing highs down to the 60s Saturday and Sunday. There’s a slight chance of showers in the far southern zones late Saturday.
