CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A 23-year-old truck driver from New York died early on the morning of Sept. 18 in a rollover crash on Interstate 80 near Wamsutter. The Wyoming Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred at around 5:50 a.m.

The driver, Baljot Singh, was eastbound in a Freightliner tractor-trailer when the vehicle drifted off the left side of the road. Singh attempted to overcorrect, causing the truck to cross back to the right. The truck then rolled onto its left side and came to rest, blocking the right-hand lane of traffic.

Singh, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene. Another individual in the vehicle was injured but survived the crash. Investigators believe driver fatigue played a role in the incident. The road was dry and weather conditions were clear, according to the report.
