CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A motorcycle accident on Wyoming Highway 120 near Cody resulted in the death of a Pennsylvania man on Sept. 12.
At around 4:16 p.m., a group of four motorcyclists was traveling southbound on WY 120. According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, a deer entered the roadway near milepost 65.2. The sudden appearance caused the front rider to brake sharply. The second rider, identified as 67-year-old Timothy Clymer of Pennsylvania, collided with the lead motorcycle.
Clymer was thrown from his motorcycle in the crash. He was wearing an open-faced helmet that did not meet DOT safety standards, the Wyoming Highway Patrol confirmed. Despite wearing a helmet, he sustained fatal injuries. Authorities reported that the road conditions were dry and the weather was clear at the time of the crash.
The lead motorcyclist involved in the initial braking was uninjured. No other parties were harmed in the accident.
