CHEYENNE, Wyo. — One person died Sunday in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in Cheyenne.
Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene at roughly 11:25 p.m. Preliminary details indicate that the wreck occurred as two motorcyclists were driving along East Lincolnway at a high speed. As one of the riders attempted a turn, he lost control and collided with a building. A fire then started as a result of the crash.
According to a statement from the Cheyenne Police Department, the Major Crash Unit is taking over the investigation of the wreck due to its severity.
The motorist who crashed, an 18-year-old, died at the scene, according to reports from the Laramie County Coroner’s Office.
The other bike rider was uninjured and issued citations for careless driving and driving without a motorcycle endorsement.
