GILLETTE, Wyo. — A Kenya-born physician has been announced as the newest addition to the Kid Clinic at Campbell County Health, the healthcare organization said this week.
Dr. Natasha Maremma, MD, brings her experience spanning multiple countries and a passion for patient advocacy to the families of northeast Wyoming, per CCH.
Her educational path into medicine started in Iowa, where she completed her undergraduate studies before pursuing her medical education in the United Kingdom, Grenada and New York, CCH says, culminating with a residency in Peoria, Illinois.
Maremma’s passion for medicine was sparked by a personal experience in her family, which resulted in her pursuing a path leading to her becoming a physician. Specializing in pediatrics came naturally with her finding joy in working closely with children and parents.
“I pride myself in going above and beyond and am a huge advocate for my patients,” Maremma said in a statement. “The relationships I build with families and the positive impact I can have on their lives is my favorite part of being a physician.”
She surveyed Gillette as a potential destination after a friend encouraged her to explore the local area, which left a lasting impression, per CCH.
“We really started to fall in love with the area, how convenient everything is, how community-centered it is, and how friendly the people are,” Maremma said in a statement.
When not practicing medicine, Maremma enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, kayaking and paddle boarding.
In a statement, CCH said it is thrilled to welcome Maremma’s passion for pediatrics and her dedication to patient care and advocacy at the Kid Clinic.
