GILLETTE, Wyo. — Here is a summary of notable crimes in and around Gillette yesterday, Sept. 3, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Gillette Police Department and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.
Property destruction, Sept. 3, Tanner Drive, GPD
Officers responded to Tanner Drive at 10:58 a.m. after a trampoline park business called to report their glass front door had been shattered, Gillette Deputy Police Chief Brent Wasson said. The door was broken between 8 p.m. Sept. 2 and 8 a.m. Sept. 3. The damage was estimated at $1,000, and the investigation is ongoing.
Terroristic threats, Sept. 3, East 5th Street, GPD
Officers investigated reports of violent threats made against Thunder Basin High School around 2:30 p.m., Wasson said. The threats were made through Snapchat, though the report contained no specifics. Officers ultimately determined there was no intent or ability to carry out the threat. The Campbell County School District will handle any disciplinary action, per Wasson.
Theft, Sept. 3, Autumn Court, GPD
A 61-year-old woman called the police at 3:26 p.m. after noticing her $300, 12-foot stepladder missing from her backyard on Autumn Court, Wasson said. The ladder is green with yellow plastic and bare metal steps. The investigation is ongoing.
Theft, Sept. 3, Rampart Drive, CCSO
A 42-year-old man called the sheriff’s office at 6:58 p.m. to report the theft of a license plate from a semi-tractor parked in Wright, Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds said. The vehicle was parked across the street from a fueling station where someone reportedly took the license plate. The man said he recently received a toll bill from Illinois where another vehicle used the plate. The investigation is ongoing.
