GILLETTE, Wyo. ― Homecoming parades for two local high schools are a go for 2024 with the Gillette City Council approving both permits during its meeting on Tuesday.
During its Sept. 3 meeting, the council voted to approve homecoming parade permits for Campbell County High School on Sept. 11 and Thunder Basin High School on Sept. 23.
Campbell County’s parade will run along South Gillette Avenue starting at Twin Spruce Junior High and ending at 1st Street from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., according to the City of Gillette. Parade participants will stage on 8th Street near Lasting Legacy Park.
Thunder Basin’s parade will start in front of the school along Sinclair Street and traverse Enzi Road to College Drive, where it will return to Thunder Basin High School on Slate Street and Christink Avenue, per the city. Parade participants are requesting a police escort for the parade, which will start at 4:30 p.m. and end at 5:30 p.m.
