CCH announces new family medicine provider

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Campbell County Health welcomed a new family medicine provider this week, a Utah-born physician passionate about rural healthcare who intends to make Gillette his home.

Dr. Jacob Parmley, DO, was announced as the newest addition to CCH’s team of family practice providers on Aug. 29.

Per a CCH press release, Parmley completed his medical education at the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his family medicine residency with the University of Wyoming in Casper. He is now excited to make Gillette his home.

“Gillette stood out to us because of its amenities while still being a tight-knit rural community,” Parmley said in a statement. “We really liked the schools in Gillette and all the opportunities and activities for children.”

According to the release, Parmley grew up around the medical field, often shadowing physicians at the hospital where his mother worked as a nurse. His interest in becoming a physician himself sparked after he witnessed both the giving and receiving ends of healthcare.

He says family medicine appealed to him because it allows him to build long-term relationships with patients and care for them through all stages of life, per the release.

“I really liked the idea of continuity and being able to follow patients’ journeys to make sure they are healthy through all stages of life,” Parmley said in a statement.

When not at work, Parmley enjoys spending time with his family, running, listening to audiobooks and playing board and card games, per CCH.

“CCMG Family Medicine is thrilled to have Dr. Parmley join our team and looks forward to the impact he will have on the northeast Wyoming region,” CCH said in a statement.
