Burglary, Aug. 26. East Warlow Drive, GPD

A 47-year-old man reported that someone had entered an empty rental property he owned sometime between Aug. 24 and Aug. 26 and caused significant damage to the property. Spilled paint on the walls and floors and trim stapled across the walls and doors inside the residence cause an estimated $15,000 in damage. A neighbor to the property said he had seen two boys, 13 and 11, enter the property on Aug. 24.

The 13-year-old was contacted and admitted to entering on that date, but denied knowledge of the stapling damage. His mother, 36, consented to a search of his room, which found clothes and shoes belonging to the boy covered in paint. He was taken to the crisis center. When contacted, the 11-year-old boy admitted to entering the property three times and claimed responsibility for the trim stapling damage. Charges for both boys are pending.

Narcotics, Aug. 26, Country Club Road, GPD

A 29-year-old man was arrested on the 1000 block of Country Club Road after his mother, 51, reported that he had been using drugs since Friday and was refusing to leave her residence. The man admitted to using methamphetamine three days prior and was showing signs of being under the influence of drugs when contacted by officers. He was arrested for use of a controlled substance and taken to the detention center.
